❓ What is this notice all about?

We want to be completely transparent about how we collect and use your personal data and this privacy notice exists to tell you exactly how we do this.

This notice applies wherever we decide why and how we process personal data (and therefore act as a Data Controller under data protection law). It covers the personal data we process when you use our services.

Our privacy notice tells you the journey of your personal data from the moment it enters our systems up until it's time for us to say "goodbye 👋", as well as the various stops it makes along the way.

When you join our app, we will need to collect certain data about you such as personal details, contact details, information about your device and your IP address. The legal basis we rely on for this processing is Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR - Contract.

If in your time with us we need to assist you with an error or bug, we will process information such as your personal details, contact details and IP address. The legal basis we rely on for this processing is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR - Legitimate Interests.

  • AWS - for data storage, processing and analytics for product related data. All data stored with them is in the EU/USA and you can find out more about them here.
  • Salesforce - for marketing and customer management. All data stored with them is in the EU and you can find out more about them here.
  • Tableau - for data storage and processing related to product analytics. All data stored with them is in the UK and you can find out more about them here.
  • Ortto - for data storage and processing related to marketing. All data stored with them is in the EU/USA/Australia and you can find out more about them here.

We'll retain your information for the duration of your account with us, and then an additional 6 years in line with statutory retention periods.

When a company starts working with us

Personal data is anything that can identify an individual, either on its own or through combining it with other factors that could eventually identify an individual.

When a company starts working with us, including EU and US companies, we will need to collect certain data about our primary contact with them such as personal details, contact details and company financial details. The legal basis we rely on for this processing is Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR - Contract.

Data users in the company will be processed as above, including data users in German and US based companies

When you get in touch with us, through our website, social media or email, we process your personal details, contact details, the goods and services we’ve provided and any other information you provide to us. The legal basis we rely on for this is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR - Legitimate Interest.

If you would like to record your use of Gravity Sketch and share it with us or if you join one of our recorded podcasts, we will ask for your approval to use the recording in our marketing campaigns. The legal basis we will rely on for this is Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR - Consent.
